Second Job Blues

I'm having trouble finding that second job I wrote about last time and it's killing me. I did have a really good one and then lost it. My wife's connections at work hooked me up with a pretty sweet gig working the night shift at this news station (basically I had to transcribe interviews and put them online). Everything was going great until the company ran a background check on me and unearthed those things in my past I'd rather not talk about. Well I was fired almost instantly, for lying of all things. I didn't lie - I just didn't say anything bad. I think there's a difference but the company begged to differ. Ever since then I've been going around looking for work but not finding any. It must be this recession. Nobody is hiring at all. I may even have to resort to a mall job. Ugh, can you imagine me working retail at my age? Sadly, that's the only business sector that is doing well at all right now. Tomorrow I think I'm going to hit up the local shopping district and fill out some applications. Yeah, it's going to kill me, but I gotta do what I gotta do. If only I could find someone with the kind of connections to get me a job that won't ask any questions. I'm a good worker and I keep my mouth shut, but I guess that ain't good enough these days. Boo. Well, hopefully next time I post I won't be so blue. It's really not like me.

I need a second job...

This may sound terrible, but life's been kind of a let down since Coachella. Nothing's gone very well. Not that I regret going - absolutely not. It's just that between the driving and the tickets and the babysitter and missing work for the whole thing, our bank account is feeling a bit starved. I'm going to work some overtime hours this month as is my wife. It stinks that we have to do this just because we wanted to attend the biggest music festival of our collective lives, but hey, that's America, right? I may even have to find a second job. Hopefully they don't run a background check. Unfortunately I've got some stuff in my past that I'd rather not unearth but it's pretty uncommon for some crap job to run one. I hope. My wife thinks she might find people at work who can recommends a good, second job for me. Nothing too fancy, but nothing terrible. I could definitely do with the money, that's for sure. Anyway, I'm not going to think about that yet since I just want to rot my brain on teh Interwebs and look up information about Googles next gen image search. Fascinating!

Made it to the desert

Welp, we made it to the desert and it was awesome! The people finder made it so easy to search out a good babysitter and the wife and I could take off for the festival without worrying about the little one. It's been a couple of weeks (okay almost a month and a half) since I updated but that's just because we were so beat from Coachella that we could barely move, let alone update. Seriously the heat and sand takes it out of you, not to mention the alcohol and other stuff. It just dried me out and beat me up but I'm better now. And it was worth it because I got to see Prince and Kraftwerk and all the rest. It's indescribable, Coachella. Really you just have to go to know. Can't wait for next year. In the mean time, I bought my wife some awesome pots and pans for mothers day on a tip from this site on Calphalon-Smalphalon. Thank God she loved them. I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't. Oh well next time loads of peole search links for you okay? No more slacking!

Finding Friends for Prince

Seamus is back, baby! Yeah! Things are going quite well for me, as of late. Me and the wife really scored...it was recently our anniversary, and we agreed that instead of buying each other lavish gifts, we hired a reputable sitter for the weekend of Coachella Festival! Yep, we're gonna go see Prince, Roger Waters, Kraftwerk, etc, and the little bastards have to stay home. It's only 15 or so days away but already I can't wait. I feel like a little kid at Christmas. We've rented a house that sleeps six, but as of now it's just Seamus, my wife, and two friends from college. We need another couple, and I have just the couple in mind, but unfortunately I've lost touch with them over the years. You know what that means: Seamus gets to find people via search people engines, another of Seamus' favorite things. I've always felt I can find anyone now I can actually use it for something useful. Since it's gonna be blazing hot out in Indio I'll want to drop some pounds so I can lose the shirt. Damage Control Master Formula should do the trick.

Finding Cool Stuff Online and Free Time

Welp, I finally drank all that ouzo. And that "welp" wasn't me addressing you, my loyal reader, as a young scrappy upstart. I was sorta saying "well" and adding a "p" to give it a homey rural tint. Did it work? I dunno. Seamus doesn't know. Anyway, things are pretty much back to normal. I've been hopping around the net finding tons of awesome people search links. And I've been trying to avoid all my whelps. I mean, my kids. Not totally, but they can be pretty annoying. I'm sure all the parents reading can attest to that. Holler! I love saying that. It embarrasses my kids so much. Muahaha. Is it sad that as a parent my goal in life has become publicly embarrassing my children? Oh well. I need to get some sort of fulfillment out of this life. Other than that, I've been trying to find people like usual. I think I've gotten to the point where I can find a person, any person, if I want to. And this is purely using people search engines. Oh and I totally want the Milk Desk. Heard of it? Check Rant Farm - To the Milk Desk. Seamus out!

Back on my Game

Those little bastards are finally back in school, and have been for weeks now! As I suspected, I've been able to really catch up on my people search skills. They were faltering, they were fading, but now they're back! And I wasn't even really rusty at all. Pretty amazing considering what my spawn has put me through. Man, ya know, sometimes you just regret...never mind. I love my kids. Don't get me wrong. Just let me say this: to all those newlyweds about to jump into bed and conceive, wait! Take a trip. Stay up all night drinking wine and laughing. Get your fill of unencumbered life before you have those kids. Trust me. Take it from a man who knows the ropes. And that man is Seamus, the knower of ropes. Ha! Sorry, we still have left over ouzo. Speaking of which I made a new drink that's kinda based on my dual heritage. I call it the "Celtic Incursion into Macedonia," and it's a shot of Jameson's dropped into a slightly larger shot of ouzo. Two or three of those will get you going nicely. Okay, on to finding people links. This is a little different. Rather than people search, it's a blog discussing background search. Next, look at this hilarious Rant Farm - To Fourth Meal. Til next time! Seamus out!

Craziness Averted

Can Seamus take a breath yet? Whew. This past holiday season was probably the toughest of my life. Yep, harder than that Christmas I spent splitting firewood on my grandmother's potato farm in the dead of an Irish winter. At least I got some exercise that time. First off, Christmas meant the bloody Christmas pageant at school. Which meant even more costumes to make and more parent participation. Like I said before, I'm wiling to do it, but c'mon. I'm starting to feel like I go to school there myself. And then the kids had two weeks off. And it was bitter cold, too cold to go out and play, so I was stuck with the little rascals all day, every day. Although admittedly I did get quite good at Wii bowling. Oh and relatives from both sides of the family came through Seamus' hood. Irish are, well, Irish, and the Greeks brought gallons of Ouzo. The result was not pretty, my friends. I'm still cleaning tzatziki stains from the carpet. It was like "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" as written by James Joyce. But you know what? Looking back at it all I just laugh. It's done, I made it, and I'm the better Seamus for it. We bitch and moan about family but when it comes down to it, they're all we have in this crazy world. So do yourselves a favor and run a background check on a distant family member. You might find out more about them or even find people from your family that you didn't even know about. Oh yeah--wanna drop those holiday pounds? Check out Whole Life Sciences.

Kango, Christmas and Tired... all over.

Hello everyone! Well, we made it through Halloween and Thanksgiving, but Christmas is looming heavily, and I don't know if we're going to get everything done in time. We've got a bunch of relatives coming in to visit starting on the 21st, the school pageant on the 14th, and a trip to plan for ourselves in March... which i know seems like a long time from now, but we've gotta get it booked or we're going to be screwed. Speaking of traveling, I was reading an article about this new site called Kango recently (here is the article: PeopleSearchDigest.com - Kango Travel Search), and I plan on sitting down tonight and really giving it a shot. Hopefully it will deliver the deals to me that I dream about. Also dreamy are these two people search sites I found a couple nights ago (insomnia from too much wine with dinner!!! does this ever happen to any of you??): find people and find a person. Check them out if you've got a second! I'm out of seconds for now, so I'm off.

Squash Costumes, Sexual Predators and Other Stuff.

Woah, woah, woah. Ok, so something they don't tell you (and by "they" I mean other parent with kids older than yours that are supposed to keep you in the loop about what to expect as kids get older, but then DON'T) is that the older they get, the more involved you really have to be with all your kid's school events. Now, please don't misunderstand me. It's not that I don't just love learning how to sew costumes for the Halloween Play, or doing newspaper drives, or going door to door with them after school to sell chocolate bars so the school can have a new basketball hoop... but... what happened to the good old days of doing our homework, reading together, eating dinner and going to bed at 8pm? That's another thing! My kids want to start staying up later this year (because all their friends get to stay up until 8:30), but I had to put my foot down there. Next year, maybe we'll see. Anyway, thanks for listening to me rant. I'm usually ranting about people search... but lately this blog has become more about parenting! Ha! It's a wild world. (For those of you without kids, you do NOT even know.) Speaking of people search and it being a wild world, it's a wild world out there for both you and your kids this month with Halloween parties and trick or treating, so you need to be aware. Make sure you know about where the sexual predators are in your neighborhood (if there are any, that is). Also, knowing how to people search your kids' friends parents before letting them go over to spend the night somewhere, can help you know whether you should be worried about letting your little one stay over. Also, just for good measure, check out this site about how to find someone. With the holidays coming up, now is the time to find friends and loved ones you've been thinking about. Spending yet another holiday a part isn't going to make you feel any better. Ok. Now I'm off to go buy a squash costume pattern for my youngest. He's part of the cornucopia this year. Great.

Finally September!

I am so glad that it is finally September! The kids are back in school and outta my hair (which is quite shaggy these days). Seamus can concentrate more. Well, I do have work to do, but I am so glad that I can work from home and basically be a stay at home Dad. It's perfect when the kids are in school. Now, I have peace and quiet to people search during the day. It's kinda hard when my daughter is begging me to play tea party with her. I got a couple links you guys should check out if you need to find people online. Let me know if they work. I'll be back soon!

Seamus Searches People

Hello again! It's now August already (wow!) and I am still hard at work searching people online. What better way to beat the heat? Now, I know what you're thinking: NERD ALERT! But seriously! It's way too hot outside to do anything without complaining about how hot it is every five seconds. People searching is just about the only thing that keeps me sane these days. My kids are all on summer break and they drive me up a wall. How much can Seamus take?? I can't wait for September. Until then though, I'll be parked at the computer finding people. I have found a couple really good people searching sites I've been browsing. One is a people search blog that someone is keeping, which makes me feel better that I am not alone in my quest to find people. Another site I really like is called Find Anyone Now, and it's true to its title. It has a lot of really informative articles about finding people, no matter the situation.

Seamus Says....Find a Person

Ok you guys, word of the day: Find Someone. I am aware that that is technically two words, but I don't care, It counts. The big Irish/Greek man wants you to find someone today...seriously do it. Unfortunately I am not that big, so I can't really enforce this. However, to help you out, I found some more awesome people searching links for you all. Finding people is a pretty basic website, but the info they offer is far from basic. Also, I found one blog that was all about people searches, which is totally interesting, especially if you are researching your family's history. I also loved this online article all about being a private eye, when you're finding people online. Go forth and search my little people finders!

Back with People Search Updates...

Hello again, Seamus back again, finally! I had intended to update this people search blog on a weekly basis, but as you can see I haven’t managed to do that. I know all you people finders are probably thinking I’m a loser, but hopefully I will redeem myself with all the good recommendations I have for you today… By now you all know people search is my favorite pastime, so I thought I'd give you a couple of good people search recommendations (the places I check out on a regular basis to stay in the people search loop): People Search Blog and Find People Blog are my top two ways to find people resources.
And lastly, I use Background Check for all Background Check updates.

Find Persons As Easy As Pie.

Hey, I'm Seamus, and yes... I'm Irish. I only bring it up because every time I introduce myself to someone these days it seems like the first thing out of their mouths is "Seamus - that must be IRISH!" So... yes... it's Irish. My father was Irish, and my mother was Greek. Growing up was a serious adventure between the Spanikopita and Mead, but even so here I am... online... writing my first blog.

So... a little more of an introduction about me would probably include some of my hobbies or something, right? The thing is that I'm probably into all the kinds of things you are. Like... hanging out with friends, reading good books/magazines/online articles, eating really tasty food, working out, and traveling. I'm also really into all things "web," and I don't mean the Spiderman kind (although he's okay too). I'm especially into people finder / public record search engines lately too. These two websites are especially easy to use and have tons of info: Public Records Now - People Search & People Finder Search Engine and Private Eye - Find a Person or do a Background Check. You should check it out if you've got someone you've been wondering about like a lost friend from college, or even a long lost relative. Of course, you can do more than just find people via people search on there. You can also do background checks, search unlisted numbers, do reverse phone searches, and lots more. It's really interesting. I'd go on more about it, but I just noted the time, and I have to get back to work now. Talk to you all some more later.
